Traditional dermal fillers typically add volume, to help eliminate unwanted wrinkles. Juvederm Volite, on the other hand, is a next generation product specifically designed to also improve the appearance of the skin’s smoothness (fine lines), increase hydration and elasticity. It can be used on the face, the neck, the décolletage and even the hands.
My regular patients understand my view that the most important part of any anti-ageing regime is good skin. To treat a patient who has poor quality skin with aesthetic procedures, without first improving the skin, would be like trying to build a house without solid foundations. Volite is an excellent treatment option for those looking to give their skin that extra boost. Furthermore, unlike more aggressive treatments such as chemical peels, with Volite there is virtually no downtime, and normal activities can be resumed the next day.

Volite is based on hyaluronic acid (“HA”), a substance which is present naturally in the skin, which stimulates collagen production and binds in water, effectively hydrating skin from the inside. Just as with other Allergan dermal fillers, it uses the patented Vycross™ technology, meaning it is a particularly soft and smooth product, leading to a very natural-looking effect. The blending of different molecular weights of HA in Vycross products also contributes to the longevity of treatment. Volite is injected with a very fine needle, as a series of dots, and as it also contains the anaesthetic Lignocaine, discomfort during treatment is minimal. It is suitable for all skin types.
The results from a clinical trial, of 131 patients, were impressive:
- 91% were more satisfied with their skin
- 96% had smoother cheeks after treatment
- After 6 months patients still saw the improvement from the initial treatment
Pricing
The cost of Juvederm Volite is £350 per 1ml syringe. If a patient elects to have two syringes, they would be invited to receive a complimentary HydraFacial treatment (worth £120), to give their skin an extra and immediate boost.
