Acne – What You Need To Know

Do you have pores? Pores are mild blackheads, and so, technically, you have a mild form of one type of acne. Acne is a cause of angst for many a teenager, and adults too. I have a number of patients who have battled acne for years, and tried numerous different products, all to little or no avail. But what exactly is acne, what causes it, how common is it and what can be done to prevent and treat it? Contrary to urban myth, acne is not caused by dirty skin and poor hygiene. It arises when the tiny holes in […]

Open pores, blackheads, whiteheads and spots.

You don’t have to suffer from enlarged pores, blackheads, whiteheads or spots- effective treatment is available. Medical grade skin care has a higher concentration of active ingredients and is much more effective than anything you can buy over the counter. For a skin regime to tackle pores […]

Treatment of Acne Scars

At BrightNewMe we have multiple ways to treat acne scars, and often a combination of treatments might be indicated for best results.  Your options would always be discussed in advance, following a detailed consultation, which would include a detailed assessment of your skin. Some of those options are detailed below. EDS Micro-needling Micro-needling is particularly effective for treating scar tissue. Acne

Are you affected by acne? At BrightNewMe I prescribe retinoid cream rather than antibiotics. The British Medical Journal confirms that this is now the “mainstay of treatment for acne” and that prolonged antibiotic courses are to be avoided (due to the risk of antibiotic resistance). Using prescribed retinol alongside our ZO Skin Health products such as the ZO Sulfur Masque we can help treat clogged pores, blackheads (comedones), papules/pustules (pimples) and cysts topically with great success.
